Imagine an engineer walking up to a screen, and asking the computer, “look for anomalies on sector 97B”, to which the computer responds “all functions were within established parameters.” Of course, all this is done only after the engineer provided their authorization code: Omicron-Omicron-Alpha-Yellow-Daystar-2-7.

3TEN8 is harnessing advancements in cloud computing, AI, and machine learning to help people operate networks more efficiently and effectively; to solve more problems in less time. 

3TEN8 was founded by a former Ericsson subject matter expert, and technical advisor, who grew tired of the manual, and tedious methods used to manage wireless networks, and envisioned network operations to feel more like Star Trek, to be smarter and faster. 3TEN8 is named after the speed of light - 3x10^8m/s; this is the speed at which we can go the farthest, in the least amount of time possible, and that’s our goal.

Position Summary

  • Oversee all Data Science & Machine Learning across the company to drive product innovation and roadmap based on business priorities. 
  • Work hands-on with our Radio Access Network Scientist to create prediction and diagnostic models for wireless network operations.
  • Work with the VP of Engineering to turn the technology into a product, frequently releasing product iterations based on customer feedback.

This is a position that will allow you to be creative, and think outside of the box. You will be given access to very large data sets to play with! You must be intellectually curious, and enjoy looking at large data sets, to discover insights, and piece together stories. 

This role will have a significant impact on the company, and the industry, as it will be the first ever AI developed for wireless network operations.

Performance Objectives

  • Primary Objective: The most important objective for this role is working closely with the RAN Scientist to develop a technology that can diagnose and predict network degradations and outages.
    • Apply your expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and understand how networks function and gain insights.
    • Use these insights, to develop a system that Predicts & Diagnoses network degradations and outages.
    • Recommend corrective actions.
    • Build a system that gets smarter as it learns from other networks, and applies this knowledge to correct problems on each network individually.
  • Secondary Objective: To work with the VP of Engineering to turn the technology into a product, frequently releasing product iterations based on customer feedback.


Basic Qualifications

  • PhD in Statistics, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Mathematics,
  • Computational Psychology, Operational Research.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in predictive modeling and analysis.
  • Proven record of working with large data sets, and generating unique models and algorithms.
  • Experience developing neural network models.

VP Engineering

Job description

We are ingesting large-scale data from multiple networks, in order to predict network degradations, outages and diagnose network problems using machine learning. The VP of Engineer will work with our Chief Data Scientist and Radio Access Network Scientist and will be responsible for all engineering operations needed to create the technology, intellectual property, and a scalable product.

Position Summary

  • Reporting directly to the CEO the candidate will oversee all Engineering Operations across the company to drive product innovation and a roadmap based on business priorities.

  • Work, very closely, with our Data Scientist to develop the needed environment to analyze and create models using large-scale data.

  • Work with the Radio Access Network Scientist to understand and create the necessary engineering operations to process and analyze network data.

  • Ensure we are leveraging best-in-class techniques, algorithms, and technologies

  • This is a role and opportunity that will allow you build something from scratch, and hire your own team.

The candidate will interface with our Head of Research, and also directly with the customers to understand their needs, in order to focus on solutions to problems that have the highest ROI. Performance Objectives

Primary Objective: In the first 6-months, the most important objective for this role will be to develop the needed environment to analyze and create models for large-scale data.

  • Build a small team of top engineering talent.

  • Work closely with that team to understand our engineering needs.

  • Be a hands on contributor to the code base.

Secondary Objective: Deliver a scalable product, based on customer feedback, with frequent product iterations.

Basic Qualifications

  • At least 7-years of senior engineering leadership experience - with a track record of bringing at least two enterprise products to market from conception to deployment.

  • Experience working with data science & machine learning.

  • Experience building and delivering a big data, cloud based (AWS, or Google) analytics solution.

  • Track record of hiring top engineering talent.

  • Proven ability to lead engineering organizations that properly scope new work, and deliver new features, and bug fixes on time.


RAN Scientist

Job description

You are a protocol guru, a radio interface expert and have a deep understanding of MNOs operational pain points and opportunities. You are a team player and an excellent communicator, self-driven with many ideas and initiatives. You are very curious and motivated. You believe that the future of network operations is in artificial intelligence and are eager to explore the possibilities of using data science for network operations.

We are ingesting large-scale data from multiple networks, in order to predict network degradations, outages and diagnose network problems using machine learning. You will be the chief expert and head of all wireless network operations.

Position Summary

  • Reporting directly to the CEO the candidate will be the Subject Matter Expert in all Protocol and Network Systems Engineering, Architecture, and Implementations across the company, in order to drive product innovation.

  • Work closely, and hands-on, with our Data Scientist to develop prediction and diagnostic models for wireless network operations.

  • Work with the VP of Engineering to turn the technology into a commercial product; frequently releasing product iterations based on customer feedback.

Performance Objectives

Primary Objective: In the first 6-months, the most important objective for this role, will be to work closely with the Data Scientist to develop a technology that can diagnose and predict network degradations and outages.

  • Use your excellent communication skills to teach and coach our Data Scientist and be the subject matter expert in all matters of protocol and network architecture and operations data.

  • Take initiatives to create hypothesis and experiments based on your expert knowledge

  • Use your deep knowledge of network architecture (RAN and CORE) to provide guidance, and navigate the network to locate relevant data to answer questions and solve problems

  • Use your exceptional knowledge of protocol and network data structures to correlate data and create new insights.

  • Apply your expertise with Ericsson network elements, and data types to decipher the data for the Data Scientist. You may also decode and post-process CTR, parse log files, correlate and analyze data.

  • Work closely with our Data Scientist to create a system that predicts & diagnoses network degradations and outages, and can recommend corrective actions.

  • Work closely with our Data Scientist to build a system that gets smarter as it learns from many networks, and applies this knowledge to correct problems on each network individually.

Secondary Objective: To work with the VP of Engineering to turn technology into a product, frequently releasing product iterations and learning from customer feedback.

Basic Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of UMTS, LTE, 5G, IoT protocols from L1 to L3

  • Solid understanding of voice, video, and content delivery networks; including IMS and VoLTE end-to-end architecture

  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in development and/or testing of L3 protocols of LTE plus GSM and/or UMTS

  • Solid understanding of network deployment architecture for GSM, UMTS, and LTE networks, including emerging NFV-centric EPC using SDN technologies

  • Solid understanding of the state-of-the-art of network monitoring tools eco system; including probes and soft-probes; including vendor-specific node data sources; pros and cons of activating certain types of data sources

  • Solid understanding and hands-on experience in correlating and keying disparate data sources

  • Architectural understanding of scaling a large scale data collection and processing backend to digest, process, load, and analyze data; just-in-time processing; data reduction at edges

  • Experience with performance counters, configuration parameters, and fault management of top infrastructure vendors (Ericsson, Nokia, Huawei, ZTE)

  • Experience in device agent based data collection in Android and iOS. Challenges and solutions.

  • Moshell scripting

  • Can easily navigate Ericsson OSS

  • Thorough understanding of LTE KPIs, Configuration parameters, and Alarms

  • Being a proficient coder is a big bonus
